Life before violence most likely guaranteed a promising future for teens and children today. Today many teens and children has lost their hopes and dreams of becoming a doctor or a lawyer, violence has destroyed the lives of teens and children today. Violence has impacted the lives of today's future and yesterday's past. Violence has definitely affected me, I have lost two friends to a bullet. Starkesia Reed who was a honor student at Harper High School where I also attended, she  was killed by a stray bullet during our freshaman year at Harper High School. Our future doctors and muscians have no hope, because of a bullet that just floats through their dreams and takes them away tragically. I think that violence should stop.

Violence takes place whether its in the low income neighborhood or a south suburban neighborhood.Violence affects many people that really cares about themselves as well as others. Diane Berry who is the pastor at a Gethsemane Garden Ministries in Harvey, IL who is also my aunt is deeply affected by violence. Berry resides in the south suburb of Park Forest, IL. Berry like others is affected by violence in her community. "I dont feel safe walking out of my door, I cant' trust my neighbors," said Berry. Violence can affect the personal lives of others also, violence is like a virus that makes individuals ill, it spreads throughout communities also. Violence is like a scar that we can't seem to get rid of and it's like we are the skin that this scar is affecting and destroying. "I want to be able to help my community, but people may think that I have money and may try to break in my house and kill me," said Berry "I feel uncertain about some things in my neighborhood."

Violence is killing the hopes and dreams of so many individuals, violence has claimed the lives of our future activists and school teachers. Without the future how will our children and grandchildren survive, most importantly what will we the future have to turn to. I'm ready for the world to change.
